The menu showcases an array of mouthwatering options, including their famed Green Chili Burrito and scrumptious Birria Tacos, both praised by satisfied diners. Portions are ample, ensuring you won't leave feeling hungry—just as customer Joellen Reichenbach noted about her visit.
The Combo Plates are a standout, featuring a medley of grilled shrimp, chicken, and steak. The Steak Fajita, served with a refreshing guacamole salad and vibrant pico de gallo, is a must-try at just $14.99. If you're in the mood for seafood, the Shrimp Ranchero Plate is a hearty choice, showcasing 12 grilled shrimp seasoned with jalapeños and onions, all beautifully plated with tortillas and a rich red sauce for $15.99.
What’s more, Los Cuates excels in creating refreshingly delicious beverages. Their Agua Fresca options, made from all-natural fruit, capture the essence of freshness—perfectly complementing any meal. Dive into the large 32oz cup for just $5.99, and you’ll experience a burst of flavor with every sip.
However, it’s worth noting some feedback from customers about the fixed burrito fillings and the unexpected addition of rice and beans to the traditional carne asada burrito—a point raised by Andrew K, who reminisced about his West Coast experiences. While variations exist, the restaurant is dedicated to offering a taste of authenticity. Don’t shy away from trying various dishes, as there’s always something satisfying to discover at Los Cuates.
In summary, Los Cuates So-Cal Mexican Restaurant is a restaurant that pays homage to authentic Southern California cuisine while providing a friendly atmosphere and generous servings. Whether you are feasting on flavorful fajitas or indulging in a nacho platter, your experience here is sure to be memorable. Embrace the vibrant spirit of their culinary offerings, and let each bite transport you to the lively streets of So-Cal.
“ My husband and I love this place. I always get the Green Chili Burrito but the birria tacos, Torta Cubano and the Chile Rellenos are fantastic as well. ”
“ Great taste, nice atmosphere, won't leave hungry. LARGE Portions. ”
“ One of the only authentic So-cal spots I’ve found from Florida to DC. One problem.... I got a carne-asada burrito, and anyone who finds this place from out of town (mostly so-cal transplants to the east coast) know what that means, but they put rice and beans in it!?!?! Kinda ruined it. On my second trip there while headed home to VA, I asked for the correct ingredients, meat, guacamole and pico, and they said that was old style. Who in California is putting rice and beans in a carne asada burrito now?? Please stick to the program. Y’all say you are authentic, please do that. When stopping here, just make sure to check the ingredients. Very much appreciated the salsa bar. Maybe some authentic squeeze bottles? Only option was the little cups. ”
“ First time eating here. My husband and I wanted to try it. Staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was good, not overly crowded. The only thing I didn't like is you can't choose what comes in your burritos it is already made for you without knowing what's inside. The rice really didn't have enough flavor for my liking, and my chicken was bland. It was a lot of food. Though they don't skip on the portions, you will get full. I will give it another try with other things on the menu. They do give a lot of cheese dip, though that's a huge plus. ”
“ This pla e is phenomenal. Best are asada burritos anywhere in Raleigh hands down. Get the carne asada fries!!!! Made me feel like I was back in San Diego again, but without the insanity ”
“ Went for lunch. Very friendly staff. Quick service. They have a nice salsa bar. They bring you a basket of chips and then you have several salsas to choose from. Got the chicken fajitas. Talk about a ton of food. Between the fajitas and the rice/beans you will leave stuffed. Food came out in about 10 minutes. Went at about 11:45 and it wasn't really that busy yet but by the time I left, more people started coming in. Food was very tasty. Would definitely go again. ”
“ Best SOCal style mexican food in all North Carolina. Prices are so affordable and food is very tasty. Pleasd support this kind of humble people. They sell carne asada buriottos with guacamole for 9.99. Tacos for 3.29 ”
“ Oh...my...lord!!!!!!!! I am from San Diego and have been dying for some legit Carne asada fries. Stumbled across this place on Doordash and I may never get Mexican food from anywhere else after today. The Carne asada fries were AMAZING! I added guac and crema. They honestly taste just like my favorite ones in San Diego. Meat was perfectly seasoned and cooked and there was so much meat on the fries!!!! The Watermelon Agua Fresca is also sooooooo refreshing and flavorful. I will definitely being ordering from here again and often! ”
